Russell James Cannino passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 83.  He was born on Monday, April 16, 1934 to the late Camella Buttacavole Cannino and the late Jim Cannino and was a lifelong resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Russell is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Jimmy White, daughter and son-in-law, Nina and David Hodges, son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Karen Cannino, son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Donna Cannino; sisters, Nina Louis and Jean Ann Haughey Milton; brothers, Dominic Cannino and Frank Cannino; 12 grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Paul, Catherine, Rob, Rachael, Kevin, Heather, Joshua, Dustin, Brandon, and Shaynna; and 8 great-grandchildren, Landon, Collin, Amelia, Aubrey, Ava, Gabe, C.C., and A.J.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Irene Cannino; parents, Camella Buttacavole and Jim Cannino; sisters, Geneva Cannino Henderson and Marie Cannino Bennett; and brother, Joseph Cannino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 601 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

Interment, with military honors by American Legion Post 109, Independence, will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
