Ruby Lee Graham

Ruby Lee Hanson Graham passed away peacefully Monday, August 31, 2026, in Covington, LA. She was born on January 23, 1932, in Archibald, LA, to the late Leon and Joyce Allen Hanson.

Ruby was a member of Bedico Baptist Church, where she shared her love for Jesus by working with the church youth group and preparing meals for those in need. She loved farm life and started Bar G3 Farms with her husband and sons in the early 1970s, a legacy that continues today. Ruby loved being a grandmother and affectionately answered to Memaw. She raised cows, pigs, donkeys, horses, chickens, dogs, hamsters, frogs, and any other animal that her grandchildren brought home. She loved to garden and would often plant flowers in any pot she could find.

Ruby is survived by her son, Charles Steven Graham, Sr. (Lori) of Ponchatoula; granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Graham of Baton Rouge; grandson, Charles Steven Graham, Jr. (Jayme) of Ponchatoula; great-grandson, Levi Zebedee Graham of Ponchatoula; step-great-grandchildren, Jackson and Annie Guerra of Ponchatoula; sisters, Wanda Searcy of Baton Rouge, Delores Rushing (Butch) of Dallas, TX, and Linda Clingan of Wisner; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends that were more like family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Zebedee Graham, Jr.; son, David Keith Graham; brother, Rufus ‘Rick’ Thornton; sister, Mary Calcote; and brothers-in-law, Charles ‘Buddy’ Calcote, Joe Searcy, and Ed Clingan.

Her family would like to thank special friend Colbie Miller for loving, sitting with, and caring for their mom and grandmother, as well as the amazing nurses and staff at Lakeview Regional Medical Center—especially Kelsey, Kee, Brittany, Bailey, Joslynn, Jilian, Kierra, and so many others on the 4th floor—for their kindness, compassion, and loving care.

Services for Ruby will be held on September 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Lynn Cemetery, in Archibald, Louisiana.
