Roy Joseph Laciura

Roy Joseph Laciura, resident of Independence, Louisiana and formerly of Buffalo, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born on June 2, 1927, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Anthony Joseph Laciura and Clara Teresi Laciura.

Roy is survived by his wife Margaret Petock Laciura; children, Marguerite Marinelli (Stelvio), Joan Kuciel (Ken), Roy Laciura (Sionen), Judy Darweesh (John), Mary Olsen (Bob), Linda Laciura, Kathy Burt (Dan), and Stacy Howard (Dave); sister, Virginia Watson (Don); 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brothers, Gasper, Joe, and Philip Laciura.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Thursday at 12:00 pm.

Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
