Roy Robertson Henderson, Jr., of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. A man of great heart and spirit, Roy lived a life of love for 92 years.
He was born on February 9, 1933 to parents, Roy Robertson Henderson, Sr. and Ruby Marie Sullivan. To their surprise, their blessings were doubled, as Roy entered the world with his twin sister that he adored - Ruby Marie.
Married to the love of his life, Carolyn, for 66 years - together they built a beautiful life raising four children-three sons and one beloved daughter. Many of his days were spent on the water. Roy was an outstanding skier, so his kids learning to slalom ski was a must! From teaching the next generation how to kneeboard and ski, to making waves for grandkids on the tube, to quiet evening party barge rides - those muddy waters became a backdrop for countless cherished memories and now hold the stories, laughter, and legacy of a man whose every breath was for the ones he loved.
Roy proudly followed in his father’s footsteps, dedicating 45 years to Jack’s Cookie Company, rising through the ranks from Salesman to District Manager, and ultimately to Regional Manager.
After retirement, Roy and Carol settled into a rhythm they loved. Mornings began at Ernie’s for a biscuit and coffee, then on to another one of their favorite places-Berry Town. While they enjoyed the work, the chance to be side by side with family is what meant the most. Being present, lending a hand, and sharing in their daily lives was very special to him.
Roy spent the last six years at his home away from home, Ponchatoula Community Care Center. His sweet compliments and quick wit brought smiles to many. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff for their kindness, compassion, and the loving care they provided to Roy during his time there.
Although his earthly journey has come to an end, our hearts find peace in knowing that, through our faith, he now rests in the arms of the Lord. Roy leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and will be remembered always for the joy he brought to others.
