Roy Edward Powell

Roy Edward Powell  passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the age of 88. He was born on Sunday, October 19, 1930 in Mississippi to the late Emma Morgan and the late Joseph "Evie" Powell. He was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Rose Marie Powell (Rickey Lee) Short; brother, R. V.  Powell; grandsons, Rickey Short Jr. and Ryan Harvey Short, Sr.; great grandchildren, Dawson, Shea, Alyvia, Ryan Jr., Rylee, Jacob, Nate, and Aaliyah; honorary special grandson, Dewayne Short; and niece, Jeannine Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Evie" Powell; mother, Emma Morgan; son, Edward Powell, Jr.; and great granddaughter, Montana Rose Short.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018, 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.

Interment will follow in Howell Family Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
