Rose Theresa "Tootie" Nicotri, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on July 8, 1936, in Independence, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Angelo "Greek" Nicotri and Mary Larussa Nicotri. For many years, Rose owned and operated T-Marie's, a ladies dress shop in Hammond. She later worked in retail in several department stores and Baby & Me in Metairie and Baton Rouge, LA.
Rose, a loving Mother of her son, Eric Nicotri and wife Kelly of Belle Chasse, LA; grandchildren, Dawn and Andrew Beyl of Gonzales, LA; sister, Ann Marie Kinchen and husband Benny Ray of Tickfaw, LA; brother, Tommy Nicotri and wife Judie of Watson, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Rose's caregivers, Cally Kyzar, Rebecca Keller, D.J. Rivere, and Mary Costanza, as well as all the friends and family that assisted her in various ways over the years.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
Memorial donations may be made in Rose's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
