Rose Lee Willie, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at her Folsom residence. She was born on October 9, 1930 to the late Nuther and Deanie Quave. Rose Lee enjoyed sewing and quilting the most beautiful handmade quilts for anyone or any occasion. Rose Lee also made quilts for her grandchildren and even a mini quilt for her grand-puppy. Even though she couldn't get around that well, her hands never stopped working, and could still embroider just about anything. She was often found in the kitchen making the best chicken and dumplings around and never missed an opportunity to make pies for the holidays. Rose Lee was known for her delicious pies, from sweet potato to pecan, she'd make up to 25 at a time for the holidays. The holidays will never be the same without Mrs. Rose Lee's special touch. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and is already deeply missed.
She leaves behind her children, Sue W. Malloy (Ronnie), Hosea Willie Sr. (Frances), Jack Willie Sr., Hessie Willie Jr. (Sheila), Annie W. Sturgess (Mike); grandchildren, Hosea Willie Jr., Craig Willie, Jack Willie Jr., Nicholas Willie, Deanie Malloy, Brent Willie, Jessica Willie, Andrew Sturgess and Victoria Sturgess; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Quave, David Quave, Larry Quave; sister, Marilyn Q. Hartley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
