Rosario Thomas Passero Jr.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. The moment that you died our hearts were torn in two, one side filled with heartache the other died with you. We often lie awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon our cheeks. Remembering you is easy, we do it every day, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away. We hold you tightly within our hearts, and there you will remain, until the joyous day arrives that we will meet again.

Rosario Thomas Passero Jr., of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born on February 3, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late Rosario Thomas Passero Sr. and Virginia Ovino Passero. Rosario, also known as Junior, was the kindest soul who would help anyone in need. He treasured his wife and family and always found ways to make them feel special. He found joy in the simple pleasures, from making his wife breakfast, to maintaining a beautiful yard and polishing jewelry for someone. Rosario's many cherished memories will live forever through his family.

Rosario is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ronny Passero; daughter, Jrean Passero Hays and husband Gene; son, David Anthony Passero and wife Laurie; grandchildren, Brandon Thomas Hays and wife Tabitha, Allie Marie Pickett, and Savannah Lynn Hays; brothers, Walter Passero and wife Evelyn and Joseph Passero; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Rosario was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings, Arilia, Josephine, Louise, James, and John.
