Rosalie Frances Ribando

Rosalie Frances Ribando passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, in Metairie, Louisiana, at the age of 90. She was born on Friday, April 21, 1933--the 111th day of the year, as she liked to tell people--in Tickfaw, Louisiana to the late Rosalie Arnone Ribando and the late Gaetano "Tom" Ribando. She was a resident of Metairie, Louisiana. Rosalie was loved by everyone who crossed her path. She was kind, generous, caring, loving, nurturing, and never failed to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She appreciated all flowers but most importantly hibiscus was her favorite. Rosalie was the true embodiment of selflessness. 


Rosalie is survived by her son, Keith Delahoussaye(Bonnie); grandchildren, Sean Beaudry, Jesse Beaudry(Alicia), Bridgette Gonzalez(Rudy), Danielle Taylor(Jeremiah), and Haley Delahoussaye; and sisters-in-law, Manuella Ribando, Diane Ribando, and Bena Ribando. She was also loved by all of her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.



In addition to her parents, Rosalie is also preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Schlaudecker; and her siblings, Russell Ribando MD, Guy Ribando, Jr. DDS, Joseph Ribando, and Josephine Governale(Angleo).



Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will follow the visitation at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Highway 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466, at 11:00 AM. 



The family would like to give a special thank you to Serenity Senior Residents and staff on Aurora Avenue for the love and care that was provided to Rosalie & Family during her stay, as well as all of the family and friends that have been a tremendous help in these last few months. They would also like to thank Carol's Flowers, Crafts & Gifts in Hammond.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
