Rosalie Elizabeth Giovingo Gerald

Rosalie Elizabeth Giovingo Gerald, of Holden, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the age of 81. She was born on June 9, 1940, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Sam and Virginia Giovingo. Rosalie had the heart of a servant and would selflessly care for others who were sick. She always had a smile on her face even during the worst times. Rosalie's kind spirit and gentle nature will be missed dearly.

Rosalie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Eddy Gerald; children, Michael Gerald (Joy), Joey Gerald (Linda), and Susan Coates (Timmy); grandchildren, Michael "Mikie" Gerald, Jr. (Stephanie), Jennifer Davis (Josh), and Sydnee Coates; great grandchildren, Tyler, Landon and Madison; sister, Virginia "Gingie" Bordok; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her infant child, and siblings, Sammy, Larry, Joe "Brother", Pat, David and Johnny Giovingo; sisters, Mary Lulow and Josie Louk.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at North Oaks Medical Center for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm, with  Rev. Leon Dunn officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
