Rosalie Delaughter

Rosalie Delaughter, age 88, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 15, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late John and Rosa Governale. Rosalie was a CNA for Dr. Liner for over 35 years serving her community with a smile. She enjoyed flowers, especially roses, which is her namesake flower. Rosalie loved spending time with her family, which was always full of stories, memories and laughter that the family will cherish forever. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Delaughter; grandchildren, Brandon Elliott (Christy), Nathan Burns, Benjamin Burns, Jenna Collins, Jeremiah Collins; great-grandchildren, Mia, Brandon Jr., Thomas, Hazel, River, Josiah, and Weston, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a special sister and friend, Peggy Vicari.

Preceding her in death were his parents, John and Rosa Governale; children, Jerrell "Wayne" Collins and Angela Renee Burns; grandson, Michael Wayne Elliott; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Renee Elliott; brothers, Angelo Governale, John Governale, Patrick Governale; and her sisters, Jenny Lewis, Francis Lewis, Josie Schiro, Angelina Adamo, Little Margaret Governale, Margaret Fresina, and Maryann Adamo.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA 70401. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Lamar Toulouse will be officiating the services.
