Ronald Louis Spell passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 in Covington, Louisiana at the age of 76. He was born on Wednesday, August 16, 1950 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the late Joycelyn and Charles Spell. He was a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana.

Ronald proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring honorably in 1990 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. During his military career, he served as a jet engine mechanic and completed more than four years of foreign service. His dedication and service were recognized through numerous military honors and decorations, including the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, among others.

Beyond his military service, Ronald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and family man. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Patsy and deeply missed her following her passing in May 2022. The love they shared remained an important part of his life.

Ronald loved his family dearly and especially treasured his role as a grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter-in-law and took great pride in his grandchildren. The time spent together as a family and the memories they created will be lovingly remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike Spell (Jolene); his grandchildren, Tyler Joaquin, Zachary, Alexis, Peyton and Drew Spell; his sister, Linda Arthur (Mario); and his sister-in-law, Pam Spell.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy Spell and his brother, Charles Spell, Jr.

Ronald will be remembered for his many years of honorable service to his country, his devotion to his family and the love he had for those closest to him. His memory will live on through his son, grandchildren, family and all those whose lives he touched.
