Ronald Luis Landwehr, 87, peacefully reunited with his beloved wife, Faith, in Heaven on Friday, October 23, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before spending many years as a Test Technician at TANO Corporation. A naturally curious and highly intelligent man, he had a passion for learning and was always researching, exploring, and expanding his knowledge. He seemed to know a little about everything and was always eager to share what he had learned with anyone willing to listen.
Though often quiet and reserved, Ronald possessed a remarkable ability to observe and understand the people and situations around him. He could read a room like few others and had a gift for offering kindness, support, or wisdom exactly when it was needed most.
Ronald was a generous and loving soul who cared deeply for his family and showed that love through both words and actions. Independent by nature, he remained sharp-minded and self-reliant throughout his life, always doing things his own way and on his own terms.
A devoted son, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ronald leaves behind a legacy of service, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his children, Mark Luis Landwehr and his wife, Donna Terminie Landwehr; Michelle Marie Sumner and her husband, Dayle Joseph Sumner; and Julie Ann G'sell and her husband, David Henry G'sell. He was the proud grandfather of six cherished grandchildren: Thomas Luis David Sumner; Craig Joseph Sumner and his wife, Lauren Michelle Sumner; Kevin Lucas Sumner; David Henry G'sell Jr. and his wife, Jordyn Becerra G'sell; Cameron Luis G'sell; and Julie Angeline G'sell.
Ronald was also blessed with three precious great-grandchildren, Raegan Faith Rose Sumner, Charlie Jane G'sell, and Parker Jo G'sell, who brought immense joy to his life. He is further survived by his brother, Donald Landwehr, and his wife, Cathy.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave F. Landwehr and Geraldine McCain Landwehr Gilman.
The family will hold a private interment at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes.
