Ronald John Behler

Ronald John Behler was born April 16, 1942, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Paul Louis Behler and Carmelite Verdon Behler.  He passed away June 28, 2022, in Hammond, LA, at the age of 80.  Ronald is survived by his wife Elda Martinez Behler; daughters, Melissa Basse (Ronald Jr. “RJ”), and Melinda Pazderny (Chris); brother, Coy Behler; grandchildren, Steed Ubas Jr. (Traci), LCpl Brandon Basse, US Marine Corp, SSgt Christopher McCreary, US Air Force, and Ashleigh McCreary; great grandchildren, Steed III, Sade, Sai, Brandon Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Jay “J.W.” Jackson, and Gerard “Jerry” Callahan; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.  In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his sisters, Delores Callahan, Myrtle Marino, and Shirley Jackson; brothers, Paul Louis Behler, Jr., and Robert “Sonny” Behler; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Behler.  Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, on Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until religious services at 12:00 p.m.   Special thanks to all the friends, our extended family, at Woodland Lake Senior Village.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 3445 N Causeway Blvd, Metairie, LA 70002.
