Ronald Charles Mathis

Mr. Ronald Charles Mathis passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 79.  He was born on Wednesday, September 29, 1937 in Metairie, Louisiana to the late Vernon and Hazel Gaudet Mathis.  He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and the former owner of Pontchahoa Kennel in Husser, LA.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra Rockhold Mathis, daughter, Cynthia L. Mathis, son & daughter-in-law, Brett W. and Jeannie Mathis, step-son, David Paul, step-daughter and son-in-law, Amy Champagne and Shane Scioneaux, 10 grandchildren, and his sister, Sheila Mathis Kamm.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lettie Elaine Tucker Mathis; sisters, Sandra Mathis Buras, and Vernzel Mathis Kamm; and step-son, Kelly Lee Bankson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, LA 70454.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
