Ronald Joseph "Okie" Basso

Ronald Joseph "Okie" Basso, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the age of 62. He was born on Saturday, November 25, 1961, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Rudolph Anthony Basso and the late Dorothy Louise Richardson Basso.

Okie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Evelyn Powell Basso; children, David Powell and Bridgette Basso; grandchildren, Jacob and Kaitlynn Powell; sister, Melissa DuBroc; brother, Bryan Basso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Okie was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and John Wayne Basso.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with a Funeral Service at 11:00 am, with Pastor Nathan Wall officiating.

Interment will follow at Loranger Community Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.
