Roger Levon Hembree

Roger Levon Hembree, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on May 6, 1945, the son of the late Robert Hembree and Girtha Sorrow Hembree. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was passionate about coaching little league baseball in Albany and he was a mentor to many of the young players. In his free time, Roger enjoyed tinkering with tractors and building things. He will be deeply missed, not only for his contributions to his community but also for the kindness and warmth he shared with those he loved.

Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores Husser Hembree; children, Tiffany Mosley (Robert Merriman II), Mitchell Hembree (Chester Wheeler), and Shaun Hembree; grandchildren, Aurora, Robert III, Brody, and Adelia; five siblings; three half siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Zoeigh and Brighton, and four siblings.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

Immediately following the visitation there will be a gathering at the family's home in Tickfaw.
