Roger âBooneâ Farlouis, age 74, of Independence, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at home with his family by his side. He was born on Friday, December 8, 1944 in Independence, Louisiana to Alfonse and Alice Jarreau Farlouis. Boone worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for over 30 years. He was a lifetime volunteer at the Independence Fire Department and a member for over 20 years at the Knights of Columbus Council # 5627 in Independence. Boone was also a part time sheriffs deputy for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffâs Office at Lallie Kemp Hospital for over 4 years and he worked as a helper at Acorn Transmission for 4 years. Boone enjoyed life and loved gardening, working in the yard, fishing, farming and his fruit trees, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.Â
Boone is survived by his loving wife for over 50 years, Catherine Digiovanni Farlouis, his son Joseph Farlouis and his wife Susan, his daughters, Rachel Farlouis Campagna and Shannon Farlouis, his grandchildren, Taylor Sharp and his wife Madison, Zachary Farlouis and his wife Daria, Matthew Campagna, Nicholas Campagna, Justin Campagna, Kaitlyn Farlouis and Nathan Quirk, his great grandchildren, Addison Quirk, Carter Quirk, Airabella Farlouis and Christopher Sharp, his sisters, Beatrice Farlouis Pingno and Margaret Farlouis Costanza and her husband Joe, his niece, Margaret Wascom and her husband Dwayne, his nephew,Emile Pingno, Jr. and his wife Debbie also many cousins, great nephews and close friends.
Boone was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonse and Alice Jarreau Farlouis, his brother, Joseph âJerryâ Farlouis, his infant brother, Charles Farlouis, his son in law Sam J. Campagna and his nephews, Joseph Costanza and Ronnie Farlouis.
 A Visitation for Boone will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Boone's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 am in the church. Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence.Â
