Robert "Rob" Earl Fontenot Jr.

Robert "Rob" Earl Fontenot Jr., age 52 of Robert, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, at his residence. He was born on Monday, June 12, 1967, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Robert E. Fontenot Sr. and Nioma Stark Fontenot.

He was an accomplished journalist, writing columns for various New Orleans music magazines.

Robert is survived by his father, Robert E. Fontenot Sr., mother, Nioma Stark Fontenot, sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Rodney Hotard, sister, Karen Fontenot, niece, Sarah Hotard, nephew, Austin Hotard, nephew, Nicholas Fontenot, and his godmother, Nedra Tuller.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Era Fontenot, Leon Fontenot, Ethel Stark, and Edison Stark.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am.

Services will be held in the  funeral home chapel on Friday, beginning at 11:30 am with Deacon Nat Garofalo officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Husser, Louisiana.
