Robert Peter Kelly

Robert Peter Kelly passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 88.  He was born on Friday, June 14, 1929 in Natchez, Mississippi.  Robert attended LSU until being drafted into the Korean War where he served in the United States Army. Robert later retired from AB Dick printing company. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and an active member of Robert Church of God.  He was known for his love of the Lord and his sense of humor. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.  

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rovella Bailey Kelly; daughter, Vanessa Jones and her husband Mike; sons, Rafael Elvir and his wife Lenore, and Thomas Elvir and his wife Gina; sister, Gaylynn Gonzales; niece, Debbie Rivette; grandchildren, Corey Elvir and his wife Kasee, Chandler Elvir, John Michael Jones, Jessica Elvir, and Dustin Rich; and great grandchildren, Charlie, Daniel and Marley.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen K. Kelly; son, Steven Elvir; mother and step-father, Joan and Jerry Rivette; father, Thomas Kelly; and sister, Teresa Kelly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.  

Interment will follow in Joiner Cemetery.
