Robert Gerald Carter

Robert  Gerald Carter, age 78, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born on Wednesday, September 11, 1940, in Independence, Louisiana. Robert was a resident of Albany, Louisiana. He was a very kind and caring person who loved putting smiles on people's faces with biscuits and mustard.

Robert is survived by his wife and soulmate, Sarah Stewart Carter; daughter, Melinda Delancey; daughter, Brandy Brecheen and her husband Butch; daughter, Stacey Moore; son, Robert Gerald Carter II and his wife Cleota; son, Shane Hiram Carter and his wife Amber; grandchildren, Cecelia, Will, Krystyn, Stormie and Mason; brother-in-law, Raymond Stewart and his wife Theresa "Patsy"; brother-in-law, Horace Ensign and his wife Dorchelle; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Gertrude Carter; daughters, Crystal Dawn Anthony and Jerri Lynn Carter; and sisters, Ruth Morgan, Mary Lee Dier and Theresa Myrl Ensign.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Mickey and Mrs. Lynne Baham as well as the staff of New Century Hospice.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 1:00 pm until the Memorial Service begins at 3:00 pm. at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401.
