Robert Wayne Gatlin

Robert Wayne Gatlin passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in St. Francisville, Louisiana, at the age of 50. He was born on Monday, February 26, 1973 in Independence, Louisiana to Shirley Sance and Robert "Lonzo" Gatlin.

Robert is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Florence Gatlin; daughter, Claudia Fletcher (Gene); son, Robert "Myles" Gatlin; the mother of his children, Bonnie Bardwell; and cousin, who was like a sister to him, Christie Benton (Lathan).
 
Robert had a heart of gold and freely gave love and kindness to those he crossed paths with. He could make friends with anyone. He had an infectious smile and laugh. You were guaranteed to get a hug, a kiss, or a smile from him. His love was genuine and his kindness was pure. He loved his family more than life and his kids were his greatest accomplishments.
 
He was preceded in death by his son, Rey Gatlin; grandparents, Leland Gatlin and Tony and Patricia Sance; and uncle, Michael Gatlin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM. 

Interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
