Robert Earl Fontenot, Sr.

Robert Earl Fontenot, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 82.  He was born on Saturday, April 12, 1941 in Whitehall, Louisiana to the late Era James Fontenot and the late Leon Fontenot.  He was a resident of Robert, Louisiana.

Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nioma Stark Fontenot; daughters, Carla Hotard and Karen Fontenot; and grandchildren, Sarah Hotard, Austin Hotard, Nicholas Fontenot, Rachelle Hotard Blanchard, and Aaron Hotard.

In addition to his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his son, Robert Earl Fontenot, Jr.; and his siblings, Eunice Fontenot, Dorothy Fontenot Kerstens, Gladys Fontenot Brown, and Charles Fontenot; and son-in-law, Rodney Hotard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM until the Rosary begins at 12:30 PM. The funeral service will follow the Rosary at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow in St. Dominic Catholic Church Cemetery, Husser, Louisiana.
