Robert "Bobby" Adam Holmes

Robert “Bobby” Adam Holmes of Robert, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on Tuesday, September 13, 1938, in Robert, Louisiana to the late Lawrence Holmes and Lucille Harper. He was an avid LSU fan and never missed a home game.  Robert was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and a loving husband and father. He was a dedicated charter member and Deacon of Bedico Baptist Church in Bedico, Louisiana.

Robert is survived by two sons, Donald Holmes (Teresa) and Doug Holmes; daughter, Pam Holmes Dawson (Jimmy Wilkinson); grandchildren, Holt Holmes (Tiffany), Chesley Holmes Strain (Britton), Dustin Dawson, Brooke Dawson, and Dylan Dawson; great-grandchildren, Kohen Holmes, Stetson Holmes, and Finley Strain, and honorary grandchildren, Maggie and Bryton Hebert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Eleanor Lois Holmes.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, La 70401, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 3:00 pm with Pastor Leo Miller officiating.

Interment will follow at Lanier Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.
