Rickie Fred Jacobsen

Rickie Fred Jacobsen, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on November 27, 1955, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Henry Layton Jacobsen Jr., and Betty Jean Bankston Jacobsen. 

Fred is survived by his wife, Sherrie DePriest Jacobsen; son, Jason Lee Jacobsen (Melissa); 3 grandchildren, Beau, Jessica, Mackenzie; siblings, John Layton Jacobsen (Nancy), twin brother, Dickie Ed Jacobsen, Joy Pierre (Ricky), Henry Jay Jacobsen, Vanessa Mitchel, and Julie Ribando (Russel); and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Layton Jacobsen, Jr. and Betty Bankston Jacobsen; sister, Connie Tschantz; and brother, Ben David Jacobsen.

Fred worked as an E&I Tech for over 30 years with Covanta a renewable resource company in several states including Massachusetts, Main, Connecticut and a short time in Hawaii. He was a dedicated employee and loved the trouble shooting aspect of the job. He was an example of a man driven by his purpose and faith in God. Fred was a devoted Christian, who shared God’s love by example. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was loved and admired by many. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. 

A Funeral Service will begin on Saturday at 1:30 pm.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
