Richard Alan Reinwald

Richard Alan Reinwald 81, of Hammond, Louisiana went home to our Lord and Savior on September 23, 2026.

He was born at the French Hospital in Los Angeles, California in 1945 to the late Arthur Jacob Reinwald and Loretta Alma (Knuth).

In his childhood he enjoyed collecting pop bottles with his sister Carole and using the money to go to the movies.

Richard attended Charles Bursch Elementary, Charles D. Jones Junior High, and Baldwin Park High School before joining the Navy in 1963. He was an E4 3rd Class Petty Officer on the U.S.S. Lexington CVS-16. This had a great impact by shaping a more structured way of life for him.

Richard met the love of his life Annette in April 1965 on a blind date that was set up by his Navy buddy "Jimbo" and his girlfriend Linda Peacock whom was Annette's sister Paulette's friend. Excited to start their new lives together the two were married on 28 September 1965. Last year they celebrated their 60th Vow Renewal amongst their loved ones. Four days short of 61 years, but in their hearts, it already had been.

Richard and Annette couldn't wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Proud father of two girls: Sheila and Pamela.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Loretta; his brothers, Lt. Col. Neal Owen, and Dale Arthur; sister, Carole June; sister-in-laws, Velna(Vee), and Eunice; and grandson, David Ban.

Richard is survived by his lovely wife, Annette; sister-in-law, Paulette; brother-in-law, Jack Nicholas Marasco (sp. of Carole); both daughters and their husbands, Sheila (Patrick Ban), Pamela (Tim Wright).

Grandchildren: Thomas Alan Wright, Matthew Alexander "Skye" Wright, Kymberlee Alana Wright and (AC) Jonathan Ruslan Ban.
