Robertson, Rhonda Arlene, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her home in Roseland, LA. She was born in Birmingham, AL to parents Reverend James Ray and Anita Robertson, and grew up in Robert, LA. She also lived in New York City, Pigeon Forge, TN; Cape Canaveral, FL and Nashville, TN.
From 1986- 1989, Rhonda enlisted in the Air National Guard and achieved the rank of Sergeant. She was awarded the AF TRAINING RIBBON, SMALL ARMS EXPERT MARKSMANSHIP RIBBON, AIR RESERVE FORCES MERT SVC MEDAL, NATIONAL DEFENCE SVC MEDAL, AF LONGEVITY SVC AWARD, and AF OUTSTANDING UNIT AWARD.
In 1995, she graduated Cum Laude from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching certificate. With a love for teaching, she taught primary grades in Louisiana and Tennessee schools from 1995 to 2008.
Rhonda received an ordination of ministry from Pastor Craig, of Cape Canaveral Church, Cape Canaveral, Florida on September 4, 2012.
She spent her last few years at home with her beloved Yorkies, sewing dresses and accessories for them to sport around. She enjoyed showing her love by sending personalized birthday cards to all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Cole Just (Layla Walk), her sisters, Annene Robertson and Deedy (Joey) Kugler, her Aunt Louise Boss, her Uncle Stanley (Brenda) Shields; eight nieces and nephews, 35 great nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Reverend James Ray and Anita (Shields) Robertson, paternal grandparents, Schod Robertson and Elma (Milton) Bosarge, and her maternal grandparents, Edgar Shields and Bertell (Pittman) (Lewis) Kilgo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Robertson Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
