Rebecca Matherne Hollis

Rebecca Matherne Hollis passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the age of 62.

She is survived by her son, Brad M. Matherne and wife Shelley of Ponchatoula; daughter, Sabrina A. Hollis currently stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Meredith Foster; former spouse, Charles J. Hollis, Sr.; five grandchildren, Megan (Ethan), Taylor, Gabrielle, Olivia and Brylee; one great-granddaughter, Lillian. Her granddaughters were the true light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. Matherne Sr. and Irene B. Matherne; her sisters, Vicki Matherne and Patricia Abadie; her brother, Ronald Matherne; brother-in-law, Mickey; and her beloved son, Joshua Hollis. She is the sister of Robert Matherne Jr. (Carman), Kenneth Matherne (Emily), June Trahan (Donnie), Charlene Grubbe, Carolyn Plaisance (Mike), Jackie Wedge (Kevin) and sister-in-law, Patricia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She has been a dedicated employee of Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Independence for the past 14 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W Magnolia, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Monday, June 27, 2022, beginning at 4:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 7:00 PM.
