Raymond Archilis Fields, Jr., of Husser, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Friday, December 4, 2020, at the age of 79. He was born on March 2, 1941, in Bulan, Kentucky, the son of the late Raymond A. Fields Sr. and Arbutus Farley Fields. Raymond was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He received a Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky where he assisted in cardiovascular research studies, and became a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan. Raymond worked for Union Carbide as a chemical engineer until his retirement. Â
Raymond is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Ann Forehand Fields; sons, Raymond A. Fields, III (Tracy) and Thomas Fields (Shannon); step daughters, Elizabeth Mahlie (David), Nicole Derosier, and Christina Derosier Billings; grandchildren, Maeghan Jacob (Brendan), Madison Fields, Grace Fields, Emily Wilkerson (David), Gavin Mahlie (Karlie), Savannah Cruz, Allison Cruz, and Paul Billings; great granddaughters, Ella Wilkerson, Demi Mahlie and Eliot Jacob; brother, Tommy Fields (Laurie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Fields.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
