Phyllis Anita Ketchand

Phyllis Anita Ketchand was born September 30, 1952, in Temple, TX to the late Richard and Lanell Brown.  Phyllis went home to be with the Lord July 26, 2023, in Hammond, LA.  She was a resident of Independence.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. David Ketchand; son, Aaron Ketchand, and his wife, Melissa; daughter, Allison Dreher, and her husband Jacob;  and grandchildren, Kendall, Emily, Caleb, and Ethan Ketchand David, Andrew, and Sarah Dreher. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her sister, Mitzi Fruge’.  She was a faithful and devoted pastor’s wife, a member of Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, active in the church’s “Uniquely Blessed Special Needs Ministry”, enjoyed shopping, and was an avid reader.  Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, 25890 Highway 442, Independence, 70443, from 9:00 a.m. until memorial services at 11:00 am conducted by Dr. Gary Dennis.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Remembrances may be made to the “Uniquely Blessed Special Needs Ministry” of Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, at the above address.
