Phillip Leslie Walton Jr., of Albany, Louisiana, passed away on February 16, 2024 at the age of 54. He was born on February 18, 1969, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Phil, also known as "Boo" to close family and friends and "Phildo" to everyone else, was a rigger for live music and film productions for many years working at Stage Right Productions and more recently at Phoenix Rigging. He had a passion for music and was fortunate to tour with many famous musicians and work on sets of well-known movies. Phil was an unforgettable character and he will be dearly missed.
Phil is survived by his parents, Phillip L. Walton Sr. and Beverly Jean Smith Walton, significant other, Rachel Tovrea, son, Phillip L. Walton III, and cousins, Hermon Walton and Wendy Burrell.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman Walton and Lillian Hollida Walton, and George Smith Jr. and Virginia Banks Smith; and cousin, David Walton .
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
A Service of Remembrance will begin on Saturday at 11:00 am.
