Peter Paul Valenti

Peter Paul Valenti, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on Monday, January 4, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Sam Valenti and the late Katie Monistere Valenti.

Peter had a deep love for music, especially country music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and was often found listening to his record player. Alongside music, he enjoyed playing cards with his family, cherishing the laughter and companionship that these gatherings brought. Peter also liked visiting the casinos with hopes to maybe win it big. Peter had a strong affinity for sports, standing proudly as a fan of LSU, the New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Cubs. Football and baseball games were moments of joy for him, allowing him to connect with family and friends through the shared experience of cheering for his favorite teams.

Peter is survived by his daughter, Dawn Valenti Baker, and her husband, Donald; grandsons, Donald "Lane" Baker, Jr. and Joshua Kyle Baker; twin brother, Tony Valenti; and loving sisters, Katherine "Katie" Nye, and Annie Dufour.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Hebert Valenti; sister, Celia Nye; and brothers, Salvador "Sammy" Valenti, and Joseph "JoJo" Valenti.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. 

A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday at 11:00 am, with Deacon Nat Garofalo officiating.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
