Pearl Marie Parks Emmons

Pearl Marie Parks Emmons (October 12, 1937 - June 26, 2017), preceded in death by her one true love, James Wilson “Dub” Emmons, her parents, Evelia and Thomas Parks, her brothers and sisters, Murphy Parks, Ernest “Bee” Parks, Erna Estay, Esther Ordoyne, Shirley Nelson, Justin Parks, Beulah Estay, Lester Parks, and son-in-law James J. Rodriguez.  She is survived by her children, Mary Emmons, Sharon Emmons Rodriguez and James W. Emmons, Jr., daughters-in-love, Suzi McGinty Mellieur and Dorothea “Thea” Suthon, grandchildren James Joseph Rodriguez, Jr. (and Abigail “Abby” Sylvest), Robert Allen ”Bobby” Rodriguez, Renee Chantal Rodriguez, Catherine “Cate” Griffen Emmons Suthon, Bryce Jo Mellieur, Christopher John Emmons, great grandchildren, Cora Nicole, Heidi Evangeline, Matthew James “Matt” Rodriguez, Ava Lynn Sylvest, Scarlet Camile Rodriguez, her sisters Thelma Deselles and Rosalie Ponthieux, and brother Johnny Parks, her nieces and nephews too numerous to name (many of whom thought of her as their second mother) and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She valued her faith and family above all else, and always had a pot of coffee and a sympathetic ear for anyone who needed it.  

Relatives and freinds are invited to attend visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, LA on Saturday July 1, 2017 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.

Pearly loved flowers but she wouldn’t want anyone to spend money on funeral sprays.  In lieu of flowers, plant something in your own garden, enjoy a meal with your loved ones, or take your mama to the casino.
