Pauline Lavonne Corkern Gassen

Pauline LaVonne Corkern Gassen, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Monday, August 16, 2021, at the age of 57. She was born on February 24, 1964, in Hammond, Louisiana.

LaVonne is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Charles J. Gassen, Sr.; children, Brennan Carney, Ayzia Carney, Zachare Carney, and Strader Gassen; mother, Pauline Schafer Corkern; brother, Hal Corkern (Juanette); sister, DeAnne Agena (Gary); aunts, Jessie Notariano (Dominick) and Barbara Marshall; step-children, Charles J. Gassen, Jr. (Rachel) and Michelle Gassen; and step-grandchildren, Austin and Jenna Gassen.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Corkern; sister, April Corkern; maternal grandparents, Killian and Betty Schafer; paternal grandparents, Hulon and Clara Corkern; and aunts and uncles, Dorleen Warner, Buddy Schafer, Annette and Dick Laws, and Dickie Corkern.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.

A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am, with Rev. Walter Parker Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow at Wetmore Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
