Greg passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at West Jefferson Medical Center, at the age of 52. Greg was born April 27, 1971, a native to Mississippi, but had been a true Louisianan since the age of twelve. He graduated form Ponchatoula High School and was an independent sales representative. He loved his sales and support teams, and the many travels and friends he made in his field over the last 30 years. He was also a member of the Bear Creek Western Store family since the early 90’s, where they truly were an addition to his family.
Greg had amazing qualities, the biggest heart and a zest for life. He never met a stranger and loved Jesus, hunting, LSU football, and golf. When not working, he loved to spend time with family and friends, particularly his nephew, Brady, who he loved beyond measure as they were travel, concert, football watching, and crawfish eating buddies.
Greg was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a free and accepted mason. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Donnette Swan Sones; one sister, Vivian Sones Brown; brother-in-law, Trent Brown; his nephew, Brady Edward Brown, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul B. Sones and many other family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 10:30 am, until services begin at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Old Zion Hill Baptist Church, Independence, Louisiana.
