Owen Joseph Ockman, Sr.

Owen Joseph Ockman Sr., age 68, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born on Saturday, November 17, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Marcel Ockman and Rita Trosclair Ockman. Owen enjoyed life and loved fishing, LSU football, eating crab legs, history, national geographic and going to the casino's, but he especially loved spending time with his family.

Owen is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Gaynell Eckerle Ockman, his sons, George Herron, Owen J. Ockman, Jr. and his wife Jessica and Chris Ockman, his daughters, Amanda Ockman and her fiancé Jeremy Messina, Debbie Cambre and her husband Charles and Bridgett Miller and her husband Sean, his grandchildren, Cody Herron, Bria Durio and her husband Cody, David Cambre and his wife Lindsey, Faith Cambre, Emily Cambre, Avery Ockman, Olivia Ockman, Haley Miller and Angelle Herron, 3 great grandchildren, and his brothers, Rene Ockman and his wife Dee and Tejeune Ockman and his wife Sharon, also, many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel Ockman and Rita Trosclair Ockman.

A Visitation for Owen will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Memorial Service Celebrating Owen's Life will immediately follow visitation at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Face masks are mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home and we ask that you maintain a respectful distance with the family. Thank you for your cooperation
