Otis Julian Whitlow, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on January 9, 1933, in Warrior, Alabama, and resided in Louisiana for the majority of his adult life.
Otis proudly served in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Tech Sergeant, and served in Greenland during the Korean War. He later had a long career in the automotive industry. He was also a proud Mason of over 50 years. Otis retired to Ponchatoula, where he lived near family for many years.
Otis is survived by his wife, Wanda; two sons, Mike Whitlow (Sandra) and Jamie Whitlow (Judy) and a daughter, Penny Whitlow; grandchildren, Stacy Lindsey, Chris Donaldson, Holly Sims, Elizabeth Hernandez, Austin and Kate Whitlow; and great-grandchildren, Luciana, Miles and Sophia Hernandez, Ryann and Noah Lindsey, Mia, Peyton, and Elena Sims, and Carmen Julia Donaldson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Creel Whitlow; daughter, Carmen Donaldson; parents, XL and Annie Whitlow; and brother, Byrum Whitlow.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 9 to 11 a.m.
A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deidre’ Allen officiating.
Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery.
