Otis "Pete" Delatte, Jr

OTIS “PETE” GABRIEL DELATTE JR. 64 years old of Loranger passed away the morning of Saturday November 12, 2016 in Kentwood. Pete was the finest example of a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend any of us could have ever asked for. Dad was our leader and was always there for us. Papa loved being a part of our lives. He was always there at our games, our meets, our practices. He was there to take us fishing, take us hunting, to go with us to the things we cared about, and to take us to the things he cared about. He was a proud member of United Steelworkers local 5702 and was recently retired, after 37 years, as a millwright from Rain CII in Gramercy. He was born in New Orleans on March 30, 1952; the eldest son of Otis Gabriel Delatte Sr. and Doris Bagwell Delatte.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Dauzat Delatte; 3 children, Brooke Delatte Clarke and husband Darby B. Clarke, Neil Michael Delatte and wife Courtney LeBlanc Delatte; Cory Daquin Michael Delatte and wife Beth Elstrott Delatte; 7 grandchildren,  Audrey, Hudson, Jude, Henry, Wyatt, Clara, and Eero; 10 brothers, Gerald “Bubby” Delatte, Steven Delatte, Ricky Delatte, Timmy Delatte, Wendel Delatte, Sr., Robert Delatte, Randy Delatte, Tommy Delatte II, John Delatte, and Brian Delatte; and his 4 sisters, Charlotte Torres, Leona Buras, Tina Piquet, and Danielle Louque.

He was a great man who loved his family, good friends, good times, good music, good food, and was never lacking of good advice!  He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond from 9:00-11:00, followed by mass.  Family and friends are also invited to join together for a remembrance of Otis at the home of Neil Delatte after mass.
