Oscar Lee Laird, age 80 of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at his residence. He was born on Thursday, September 28, 1939, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the son of the late Thomas and Sadie Quave Laird.
He was US Army Veteran, having served between 1958 through 1964 in the Korean De-Militarized Zone.
He was the owner of the Hammond Feed and Seed for 35 years.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ella Rae Fletcher Laird, son, Brad  Laird, granddaughter, Rae Ann Laird, sister, Eltimae Laird McLain, brothers & sisters-in-law, Thomas and Betty Laird, and John and Anne Laird.
He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Lewis (Bing) Fletcher, Dahmer Fletcher, and Dennis McLain; and sister-in-law, Marlene Fletcher.
Family and friends will be received at First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula, 201 E. Pine St. Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 8:30 am until 10:00 am.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula, on Monday,  at 10:00 am, with  Rev. Jessica Lowe officiating.
Interment will follow at Collins Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
