Opal Mae Barker

Opal Mae Barker, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born on July 9, 1933, in Sawyer, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Gus Williams and the late Edna Kelly.

Opal is survived by her sons, Floyd Richardson, Jr., Eddie Richardson, Lonnie Richardson and wife Leatha, and Robert Richardson and wife Karla; daughter, Dorothy R. Irby; sister, Wanda; brother & sister-in-law, Hollis and Mary Richardson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by Floyd Richardson; sons, Roger Dale Richardson and David Richardson; daughter, Linda Sue Richardson; sister, Dorothy Richardson; son-in-law, Franklin Irby; brothers-in-law, Edward Richardson, Eddie Richardson, and J.C. Richardson; and sisters-in-law, Eva Andrews and Lillie Mann.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 9:00 am until the funeral service begins at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
