Opal Bardwell Jenkins

Opal Bardwell Jenkins, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the age of 93. She was born on Sunday, February 5, 1928, in Robert, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Gene and Lizima Morse Bardwell.

She worked as a telephone operator for Bell South and retired after 35 years of service.  Opal was a very devout Christian who loved to pray and talk about Jesus. She is now reunited with her husband, Warren, in Heaven.

She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Ginger and Victor Acosta, Kim and Alfred Robertson,  Trina and Gary Peltier, and Nadia and Gary Sheridan; son & daughter-in-law, Randall and Elizabeth Jenkins; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sybil Scafidel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Jenkins, grandchildren, Randi Kay Jenkins, Kyle Peltier, and Blake Sheridan, brothers, Earl, Merlin, Willard, C.B., Jerry, Huey, and Kirby Bardwell; and sisters, Blanche Bardwell, and Georgiana Goldate.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Cooper Cemetery, in Robert, Louisiana.
