Norman Melvin Barron

Norman Melvin Barron, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at the age of 80. He was born on July 2, 1940, the son of the late Ralph H. Barron Sr. and Ruth Winkler Barron. Melvin was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Myers Barron; step daughter, Cynthia Perrin; step granddaughter, Pamela Newman; step great granddaughter, Olivia Spring; sister, Brenda Barron Latino (Frank); brother, Danny Ray Barron (Cynthia); nephew, Michael Latino (Clara); and niece, Nancy Latino Penton (Jeff).

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Barron McCormick, and brother, Ralph H. Barron, Jr.

Services will be held privately. Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences and share memories online.

Melvin will be laid to rest at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond, Louisiana.
