Norman Gibson Rivers, Jr

Mr. Norman Gibson Rivers Jr., 66 years old of Amite, LA, passed away  Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, LA.

He was born on Wednesday, September 27, 1950, in Independence, LA,  son of the late Norman G., Sr. and Carrie Santangelo Rivers.

Mr. Rivers was retired from the Louisiana Department of  Transportation and Development as a  Highway Foreman 2 after 33 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and Paw Paw who loved fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Kellie Yazvac Rivers, daughters & sons-in-law, Melanie R. and David Tallo Jr., Katelyn and Kevin McMichael, son, Grant T. Rivers, grandson, Weston R. McMichael, brothers, John Rivers, Charles Wayne Rivers, and Ritchie Rivers.

He is preceded in death by his son, Brad Norman Rivers, sister, Beverly R. LaMarca and a brother, Danny Rivers.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Leon Dunn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
