Norman Wallace Addison Jr.

Norman Wallace Addison Jr. was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born July 9, 1942 and left this world August 20, 2023 at the age of 81. He passed away peacefully at home with his family.
Norman is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vivian Dianne Young Addison; daughter Sherry Addison Schexnayder (Stacey); 5 grandchildren: Michael Chambless III (Amber), Caitlyn Chambless (Shawn), Brayden Addison, Courtney Schexnayder (Alicia) and Sydnie Schexnayder; 12 great-grandchildren; brother: Jesse Hodges (Courtney); sister: Amy Walters (Jeff); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles A Isom and Ida Freeman Isom; his parents: Norman W Addison Sr (father), Sarah Isom Hodges (mother), and SJ Hodges (step-father); his son, Norman W. Addison III whom he lovingly called Wally; beloved aunt, Charley Ann Reichley; and one great-grandchild.
Norman was an avid square dancer who loved spending time with his family and talking to everyone he came into contact with. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite his pain, Norman came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. His family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge for the excellent care and support that they provided.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 16, 2023 at 2pm. It will take place at Woodland Park Baptist Church, Hammond, La., where he was a member.
