Nicholas Ray Rushing

Nicholas Ray Rushing passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 44. He was born on Tuesday, December 23, 1980, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Cindy Hoover Walters and Thomas Rushing. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Nicholas could often be found casting a line while fishing, creating intricate tattoos, or crafting beautiful designs through wood burning.

He is survived by his mother, Cindy Walters (Steve); father, Thomas Rushing; fiancée, Veronica McMorris; son, Dylan Andrews; daughters, Riley Fout, Addison Baty, Savannah Walters, and Victoria Stanga; granddaughter, Alora Marie Thomas. 

Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Joyce P. Hoover, Scott and Hazel Rushing; aunts, Gwen Hoover and Beverly Rushing; and uncle, Bobby Rushing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. for immediate family. 12:00 p.m. for the public until funeral services at 3:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Eric Hattaway. Per Nicholas Rushing's request, he will be cremated.
