Nicholas Paul Brandenburg, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the age of 36. He was born on Sunday, January 8, 1989, in Marrero, Louisiana, the son of the late Oliver L. “Nicky” Brandenburg and Wendy W. Helms.

From a very young age, Nicholas loved the great outdoors, embracing the joys of hunting, fishing, and simply being outside. His deep passion for music enriched his life. With a tender personality and an infectious sense of humor, he had a remarkable talent for cracking jokes that brought smiles and laughter to everyone. In addition to his wit, he had a natural ability to draw anything he saw. He loved unconditionally and was cherished by many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Nicholas will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Nicholas is survived by his parents, Wendy and Robert Helms; his sister and brother-in-law, Libby and Lawson Vicknair; his brother, Ty Helms; his grandmothers, Vivian “Deedee” Brandenburg and Patricia Welker; his grandfather, Mike Lee “Pawpaw Mike”; as well as a cherished group of aunts, uncles, and numerous beloved cousins, including Ronnie and Heather Orgeron (Adaleigh & Brodi), David and Michelle Fox, Mark and Tina Brandenburg (Tara & Natalie), Stacy Brandenburg (David, Wesley, & Morgan), Melissa Boudreaux (Coty), Johnny and Pam Burtchaell (Brenden), Eric and Gisele Knox (Eric Jr.), Timmy and Angie Foster (Timmy Jr.), and Mike Couvillon (John Michael & Jennifer).

He was preceded in death by his father, Nicky; grandmother, Ann B. Lee “Punkin”; grandfathers, Philip M. Welker “Pops” and Oliver F. Brandenburg “Pawpaw”; aunt, Connie Couvillon; and great-grandparents, Rodney “Grandpa” and Gertrude “Gertie” Burtchaell, and Manson “Papa” and Rose “Nannie” Foster.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, beginning at 1:30 pm.
