Netye “Zel” D. Guiffreda, 91, died March 1, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Netye never met a stranger and loved God wholeheartedly. There is no doubt she is rejoicing in Heaven. She was born on November 3, 1932, in Logtown, Mississippi.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia S. Stevenson of Picayune, Mississippi, and Peggy S. Jarrell (Bill) of Ponchatoula, and two sons, Jeffrey Sylvest (Betsy) of Ponchatoula and David Guiffreda (Felicia) of Ponchatoula; five grandchildren, Treasa Boldon (Dr. Billy Boldon), Christopher Stevenson (Krystal), Shane Jarrell (Fannie), Carli Sylvest, Hunter Sylvest (Anders); 9 great-grandchildren, Brant Boldon (Emily), Dr. Emilee Ann Roberson (Trey), Shaneah Jarrell (Devin), Kelsey Hilbun, Logan Flanagan, and Ana Baker; 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family including step-children and their families, cousins, in-laws, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Netye is preceded in death by her parents, William Larkin Douglas and Henry Della Douglas, husbands, siblings (3 brothers and 4 sisters), and numerous extended family members.
A graveside service will be handled by Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home of Ponchatoula. The Reverend Randy Paul and Chaplin Eric Guiffreda will conduct the service on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
