Nermie Stubbs

Nermie Joyce Stubbs (nee Fortner) passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. She was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was born on Sunday, June 6, 1937 in Hickory Flat, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Iona Fortner; sisters, Juanita Krassover of New Jersey, Dorothy Blackwell of Baton Rouge, Margarete Strickland of California, Iona James Fortner of Mississippi; son, James Michael Stubbs of Indiana; daughter, Alice Kay Morrison of Mississippi; and grandson, Barry Morrison of Scotland.

She is survived by her sister, Myrna Jean Carney of Indiana; brother and wife, "Sonny" James and Peggy Fortner of Florida; daughter and husband, JoAnne and Bill Gipson of Louisiana; grandson and wife, Joseph and Beth Ronie of Mississippi; grandson and wife, William and Jenny Ronie of Mississippi; grandson and wife, Phillip and Cristy Morrison of Virginia; grandson, David Morrison of Scotland; and one great granddaughter, Avery Morrison. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

She will be warmly remembered and very much missed.
