Nathan Thomas Sticker

Nathan Thomas Sticker, of Bedico, Louisiana, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born on Saturday, July 10, 1937, in Bedico, the son of the late Rufus Sticker Jr. and the late Gertie Vining Sticker.

Mr. Sticker worked for Equitable, Avondale Shipyard, and Orion Refinery as a Safety Engineer. He was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office for 10 years. He volunteered with Eighth Ward Fire Department for over 40 years having served as a fire fighter, training chief and volunteer chief from1999-2016. He also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician for 50 years and served on the Tangipahoa Parish Water District Board for 8 years. He was a man who loved God and his family tremendously and was a lifelong member of Bedico Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and caring for the animals on his farm, Bedico Creek Cattle Company. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to shoot, garden and care for animals. He taught them to be patriotic Americans, to serve their community and most importantly to follow Jesus.

Nathan is survived by his wife, Brenda Stanga Sticker, daughter & son-in-law, Cindy and Gary Drury, daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Ira Brown, daughter, Raye Sticker, daughter, Crystal Sticker and Wesley Troxclair, step-son, Jimmy Sticker, grandchildren, Gary Drury Jr., Chad Drury, Tom Brown, Amanda Brown, Shaun Arnett, Chastity Arnett, Mackenzie Sticker, Mason Troxclair, and Shiloh Troxclair; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and sisters, Dorothy Quave, and Patricia Eberhardt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Gertie Vining Sticker Jr., son, Nathan Jerome Sticker, grandson, Jason Wade Drury, mother-in-law, Edna Stanga, brother, Ken Sticker, and his sister, Janet Chandler.

Family and friends will be received at Bedico Baptist Church, 28156 Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Bedico Baptist Church, on Saturday at 2:30 pm, with Dr Leo Miller and Dr Dustin Stockstill officiating.

Interment will follow at Sticker Cemetery in Bedico, Louisiana.
