Morris Husser

Morris Husser has been a life long resident of Husser, La. Born on April 14,1935 at his residence in Husser, La  son to Bobetta “Aunt Tece” (Brunett) and Amos Husser. Morris was 85 years young at his time of passing on March 30, 2021 at St Tammany Hospital from heart failure infections. Morris has been married an upcoming 65 years on May 19, 1956 to his lovely bride, Jean (Wallace) Husser. Morris served in the United States Army. Morris was not your average man. He was an avid outdoorsman, treasure hunter, clocks-man, adventurist, and man of all trades. He was the Husser genealogist and community encyclopedia. He was known around the community as Uncle Morris or Old Man Husser. If he would have written a book on his life you would have never put it down. He served as the first fire chief of the Husser Volunteer Fire Department when founded in 1968. The Husser Community Organization is gratuitous for all the help Morris provided in helping to attain National Register status of the Husser School/Husser Community Center.

He was preceded in death with his maternal grandparents, Frank and Johanna “Anna” (Casanova) Brunett; paternal grandparents, Clemmie and Hypolite Husser, Jr.; parents, Bobetta (Brunett) and Amos Emile Husser; siblings, Juanita Rodriquez, Dewitt Husser, and Marie Bankston; and son, Roch M Husser.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Wallace) Husser; daughter, Julie (Husser) husband Monroe “Buster” Rick; grandchildren, Jared and wife Erin (Calderone) Rick, Jennifer (Rick) husband Andrew Callais III, Jason R. Husser, Jardin (Husser) husband Zach Stanton; great grandchildren, Gaige Penton and Celia Rick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at St. Dominic Catholic Church Cemetery in Husser, Louisiana.

Face masks are mandatory to attend any visitation or service and we ask that you maintain a respectful distance with the family. Thank you for your cooperation.
